Markyta Holton Bio

After serving as an Employer Relations Assistant in Georgia Tech’s Career Center in 2019, Markyta Holton joined the OMED staff in April 2020 as the Program and Operations Manager. As OMED’s Program and Operations Manager, she manages the Peer-I-Scope program, manages OMED’s social media accounts, served as the interim program manager for Career Alliance, and lead other OMED campus wide events.

She has several years of experience in creating, developing, and directing programs that focus on STEM, community building, and workforce development. She is passionate about assisting the next generation, specifically individuals from or living in marginalized communities. Markyta has presented at several conferences on non-traditional STEM education and workforce development for marginalized individuals.

As a proud double HBCU alumna, Markyta earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Albany State University and a Master of Public Administration from Southern University and A&M College. She also holds certifications in graphic design, grant writing and DEI in the Workplace. Markyta’s community involvement includes advocating for policies that impact women and young girls in the state of Georgia as an alumna of the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute. She also served as the Curriculum Development Lead for Black Girls Code: Atlanta Chapter.
